  1. Matters arising from last 2 meetings – item 3 from previous meeting will be discussed as a main item at this meeting. Minutes approved.

    Main Items

  2. 1st March – Ladies Social Evening at 6pm – coaches to liaise to leave free courts for that night.

    CI Action

  3. Junior members discussed at length and any changes made to junior night has to be agreed at AGM or EGM. However, clarified that JNCL will take precedence on Friday night as a sanctioned match on top of junior coaching courts.
  4. Concerns were raised regarding the age range of tennis members and TR produced some printouts which shoed the breakdown and clearly highlighted a low number of members in 20’s and 30’s. However, LD and TR had spoken to other clubs and LTA and this was a common problem throughout Wales and little more could be done. No action agreed.
  5. Child Protection Officer – Miss E Davies has been appointed CPO for the club and managed through the management committee. Will cover both tennis and squash and the committee look forward to working with her.
  6. Maintenance of the top 3 courts was discussed. Norman Allnatt has looked at a power sweeper used at Dinas Powys and TR and JG to follow this up to see what the solution is within budget constraints. In addition, tress round courts 4/5/6 and been trimmed back to help and 5 tons of grit/American clay have been ordered for deliver in early March.

    TR/JG Action

  7. Due to late Easter, it was requested that Performance Club be started (and therefore finish) earlier this year. JG and CI to liaise to consider conditions of courts (see above). Finish is due at latest 21st July on Performance Club.

    JG/CI Action

  8. Court usage discussed and more matches being played raised concerns regarding coaching, matches and club nights. After some discussion it was agreed that CI to look at court usage and the impact on coaching. At this stage it was felt that no further action should be taken although DP felt a review of usage would be appropriate.
