Present: Geoff Muxworthy, Tony Ridout, John Gregory, Annette Roberts , Jeff Gleave, Norman Allnatt

  1. Previous minutes: Approved.  Louie Davies has resigned from the committee – letter to be sent expressing thanks for her hard work over many years. ( Jeff Gleave to action).

 

 

  1. Wimbledon Draw – results of draw as follows:

 

Mon 22nd  - No 3 court – Ian Jackson

Thur 25th – No 1 Court -   Sam Roberts

Fri 26th – No 1 Court – Enid Owen

Sat 27th – Centre court – Henry Muxworthy

Monday 29th – No 1 – Diane Marfleet

Tuesday 30th – No 1 – Martin Lacey

Wednesday 1st – No 1 – John Gregory

Thursday 2nd – No 1 – Josie Jeffreys

Saturday 4th – Centre Court – Reuben Gomez

 

  1. Coaching – coaches to be asked to undertake following action :

 

    • follow up on juniors who have not rejoined
    • Ensure juniors wear shoe tags and also remind seniors who are not wearing them
    • Fulfil agreed court responsibilities, including emptying bins
    • Clean up the shed
    • Return their contracts/ job descriptions

( Norman Allnatt to clear with Craig)

 

  1. Courts – Agreed Craig had done an excellent job. Switch has been replaced on watering system. John Gregory asked that Howard Davies also explains the watering system to the new steward. ( John to Action). Working party to take place on 20th may.

 

 

  1. Matches/Tournaments

 

    • tennis balls – Sinclairs have withdrawn sponsorship. Club has bought balls. Stewards will control. Agreed that teams will have 3 balls per court and will return balls after matches. On social evenings stewards responsible for custody of balls.
    • Cardiff friendly match – ( action – Jeff Gleave to try and rearrange date). John Gregory will invite Jean Morris to the open day on 27th to see the cup.
    • Terry Little memorial match – scheduled to take place in Bath 5/6th September.
    • Club tournament – sub committee to be established to run ( action - John Gregory to ask Alan Leatham/Iris and Craig)

 

 

  1. AOB

 

    • Tennis Club mark- club has been awarded this – Norman Allnatt outlined action agreed by Management Committee as a result. Details in attached paper. (Action: Tennis committee agreed to take action as outlined in the paper.)
    • Open day – sub committee meeting 21st May to organise. To include promotion of discounted membership.
    • Sign to welcome new members ( Action: John Gregory).
